Vorryn is a hobby project for playing a strategy game of trade, settlement, and knights against friends and bots. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it is handled.

What we collect

Account details — your email address, and, if you sign in with GitHub or Google, the basic profile (name and avatar) those providers return.
Profile you choose — a display name and player colour you set during setup.
Gameplay data — the games you join and the moves, results, and statistics they produce.
Operational logs — standard request logs and error reports used to keep the service running.

How we use it

To sign you in and keep you signed in.
To run games and show your profile, history, and the leaderboard.
To send the occasional transactional email — a pass-phrase-reset link, or a turn reminder if you enable it. We do not send marketing email.
To diagnose errors and protect the service from abuse.

Cookies

We use only a small number of strictly necessary cookies — to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. Our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, may also set security cookies that guard the service from abuse. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share the minimum necessary with the service providers that run Vorryn: the sign-in providers you choose (GitHub, Google), our transactional-email provider, our hosting and content-delivery providers, and our error-monitoring provider. Each processes data only to provide their part of the service.

How we protect it

Pass-phrases are stored only as salted hashes, never in plain text. Pass-phrase-reset links are stored as hashes and expire after a short window.

Retention & your choices

We keep your account and game data while your account exists. You can request a copy or deletion of your data, or deletion of your account, by contacting us at the address below.

Children

Vorryn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
